Early this morning, VFD was dispatched to a reported kitchen fire. First arriving crews entered the basement apartment and were met with a moderate smoke condition. Once members were in the apartment, they located where the fire was. The main body of fire was knocked down and crews began to open up walls and ceiling to check for extension. Once the power was isolated, crews cooled down the area and confirmed there was no extension. Fans were brought in to ventilate the structure of smoke and CO. Once all residual smoke was gone and CO levels at acceptable levels units picked up and went back in service.
