Yesterday was the first day of National Fire Prevention Week. Each year fire departments across the country educate the public on fire safety tips. The topic for this years Fire Prevention Week is to have an escape plan. Each family should have a plan on what to do and where to meet during a fire. A meeting point is an important part of your plan. This could be a mailbox, a tree, any location where you can make sure everyone is out of the building.

This week the department will be visiting local schools to share fire safety tips.
