This afternoon VFD was sent to numerous calls for service throughout the district. Crews assisted residents with pumping out their homes. Roadways were also flooding leading to water rescues. VFD and North White Plains FD were dispatched to the TSP for vehicles in the water. Crews attempted to make access to the vehicles but could not due to the current. Yorktown’s water rescue, which was staging in the area, was requested to check on the vehicles. Luckily all vehicles were empty. Over on the Sprain Brook Parkway, VFD and Hawthorne FD were dispatched for more vehicles submerged vehicles. Yorktown’s water rescue team was able to rescue the occupants from those vehicles. Over a 4 hour period VFD answered 30+ calls. We would like to thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance.
