The Valhalla Fire Department would like to congratulate Luis Herrera for completing the NYS Firefighter 1 course. This 129 hour course allows members to become interior firefighters. Firefighter Herrera's training was on basic fireground tasks like water operations, ladders, search/rescue, and ultimately extinguishing a fire. This class was held at the Westchester County Fire Training Center on the Grasslands campus. We wish Firefighter Herrera the best of luck!
