Department's Final Farewell to Ex-Chief/Ex-Commissioner Joseph Primerano Sr.

Yesterday, the department participated in a final send off for Ex-Chief and Ex-Commissioner Joseph Primerano Sr. Joe was a member of the Independent Fire Company for 36 years, where he rose up the ranks to chief of the department in 1977. Joe was also elected to the Board of Fire Commissioners, in 1980, and served the residents of Valhalla until 1995.

I new Joe back in the 70"s when he was active with the ropes. We under his direction had many drills behind my house over the brook. Making staged rescues over the brook. Joe was a smart man and new his stuff.
Jos is in a better place now with our Lord and GOD bless him and all of the Firefighters that give it all for out safety
