Last night the department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Grasslands Road near the Sprain Brook Parkway southbound entrance ramp. Car 2481 arrived on scene to find the vehicle well into the woods with occupants still in the vehicle. 2 ambulances from Hawthorne Fire Department and Westchester EMS were requested. Crews made their way with chainsaws to cut brush away to access the vehicle. Once members cleared a path to the vehicle they removed the patients and handed them off to EMS who transported them to the hospital. Units remained on scene until the vehicle was removed.
