This afternoon, Valhalla and Thornwood Fire Departments were dispatched to Saxon Drive for a report of a house struck by lighting. Crews checked the interior of the structure, including the attic for any signs of charring. There was no evidence of any burning. Members also went on the roof and found a vent which appeared to be struck by lighting. The surrounding area was checked and no signs of extension were found. While members were packing up from the call, a neighbor reported smoke inside their residence. Members had an odor of burning inside the house. While investigating they discovered that some circuit breakers had tripped on the panel. The rest of the house was checked with no signs of smoke or fire. Both departments cleared the scene shortly after.
