Engine 84 and Tower Ladder 49 were dispatched to North White Plains Fire Company No. 1 for smoke coming from a structure. First arriving units confirmed smoke coming from a chimney. TL49’s crew made entry into the rear of the structure while Engine 84 secured a positive water source. Interior crews identified the cause of the smoke to be a kiln that was running. Members secured the unit. No other hazards were found, units went back into service shortly after.
