At approximately 10:30 this morning the Valhalla Fire Department responded to 7 Highclere Ln to assist in an animal rescue. Upon arrival crews found a dog along with her caretaker on the side of steep ravine. Bella the dog accidentally slid down the ravine and got caught halfway down. The caretaker went down to assist Bella and was unable to move her. Crews created a harness for Bella and assisted her and her caretaker down the ravine to safety. Bella and the caretaker suffered no injuries and Bella returned back home for some well deserved treats and a nap. Job well done by everyone on scene.
Well, done Valhalla FD. This needs to get out to the public, so they know what we really do for our neighbors in need as volunteers. Let them know that we are volunteers, and we need more people to take interest in our fire department. Most new people in our town think we are paid for out services, and they do not know that we are all volunteers. Arvid
