Last night, Ex-Chief Thomas McCarthy was honored for his 50 years of service in the Valhalla Fire Department. Tom started in the department as a firefighter and rose through the ranks to become Chief of the department in 1983 and then again in 1988. Tommy was then elected to the Board of Fire Commissioners in 1993 where he still serves today. The officers and members of the Valhalla Fire Department would like to congratulate Tom for his dedication and leadership for the past 50 years.
